Not A Good Start To A Saturday.

“I’m as freeeee as a bird now.”

You’re kidding me.

Shawna slaps the alarm clock.

“All we are is dust in the wiiiiind.”

What the frick!

She yanks the cord from the wall.

Back to sleep.

Caw! Caw! Caw!

    1. I could shoot a dozen birds from my window, they piss me off so bad when it’s my one day a week to sleep in and there out there taunting me. Damn crows. I’m really not an angry person but … Its my one day to sleep in.

  1. In our neighborhood it is not the birds, it is the idiots with their leaf blowers at 7:00 a.m. Sure, it is against the noise ordinance, but by the time you get up, find the phone number of the officer of the day so you can complain, and a cop (maybe) comes out, you are wide awake (and yes, pretty pissed off). – Fawn

    1. I don’t have many neighbors but the boys next door to us just started driving…good grief the loud music! I feel like a fuddy duddy saying this but why does it need to be so loud in the driveway??? The day he wakes my sleeping baby is the day I’ll lose it on him.

  2. Hahaha! This was great! I imagined the clock radio going off, a whack of the snooze button, and chirping birds all in cahoots to wake this person up! Most times, I am very happy to stay right where I am and bury my head under my pillow to drown out the noise!!!

    1. Thanks. This is usually me, however the alarm clock is an adorable little boy voice, calling from his crib. Unless its my weekend to sleep in …then its always the birds. I’m not a fan of crows.

  3. LOL. Perfect!
Of course I have 6 yr old twins to do this for me 😉

I actually like the chirping of the birds in the morning. It’s the nighttime noises that bother me, but this was really good as an opening lead in for a short story or movie.

    1. Thanks 🙂 I was just commenting about how its usually the 1yo waking me up but the hubs and I alternative sleeping in on the wknd. …so the birds get me even when the little man doesn’t. 🙂

  4. I hate having to set an alarm on a Saturday! But then when I can sleep in, I usually wake up early anyways. I liked your ending 🙂

  5. Loved it. But to be frank I love the sound. It sort of reminds me that there are still birds around. What with concrete structures having affected their natural habitats crows are lesser visible these days in the cities and towns.

  6. Ha! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve set my alarm on a Friday or Saturday night out of habit, only to realize it when I’m peeling myself off the ceiling the next morning. *sigh* Fun little post, Dawn – thanks for linking it up!

    1. Thanks 🙂 I was in a silly mood when this one came up on me. It was nice because I tend to always go dark first…know what I mean?

    1. Thank you 🙂 I’m a night owl too. Not a good thing when you have small children. The mornings are usually rough.
