Nothing is better than hearing one of your favorite bands, play your favorite songs live. What’s even better to me, is hearing your favorite song unplugged. That’s what this week’s mixed tape is all about. Songs that blew me away live and/or unplugged.
Mumford and Sons – Roll Away Your Stone
I had already fallen in love with this band but when I saw this unplugged set, wow! This song, in particular, had me jamming out.
Alicia Keys – If I Ain’t Got You
She’s one of favorite female artist of all times. When I heard she was playing an unplugged set, I was ecstatic. This is one of my favorites.
Sara Bareilles – Gravity
I first saw Sara Bareilles because she was opening for the opening act. I normally, like everyone else, would still be drinking in the parking lot, but I was pregnant at the time. I lucked out! As soon as I heard her start to sing, I was captivated. This is the song that sold me. …and still one of my favorites.
Third Eye Blind – God of Wine
Every time I have seen 3rd Eye, they have come out to encore with this one. I look forward to it every time.
Ani DiFranco – Out of Habit
My favorite little folk singer! I can’t tell you how many times I have seen her live but this is one that I ALWAYS hope she will play. This particular video doesn’t capture a picture but a live version that is my all time favorite. You get to hear her personality in discussion in the beginning. Love it!
